Branigan’s Turkey Farm is a year-round family-owned business since 1942. We sell broad breast, free range, all natural raised organic turkeys. Every year over the entire holiday season, we raise and distribute 18,000 to 20,000 turkeys.
Branigan’s Turkeys are different from regular store bought turkeys in that they are raised longer than most turkeys, which are processed at 16 weeks. Although a turkey is considered mature at this age, we feel raising our birds 25-27 weeks will allow for a proper finish; They also develop a thin film of fat under the skin that makes them self-basting, so you don’t have to add any oil or butter.
Besides being raised for quality flavor and value (more meat per bone), Branigan Turkeys are processed for the same. Every bird has all fine pin feathers removed and kidneys removed (excess weight). Once the giblets and neck are properly packaged and stored in the turkey cavity, our turkeys are chilled with ice before final packaging. This chilling process keeps the water content of the turkey low and adds to the quality of the meat.
All turkeys are then vacuum packed in a clear bag. Why a clear bag? Because Branigan’s Turkey Farm is proud of its turkeys and feels you, the consumer likes to see the quality you’ve come to enjoy.
